Skin / Food / Plant Studies  were a series of studies exploring skin, food and plants through action, film, activity and object.

The studies were developed in various contexts between 2004 and 2006, one of which included Colina (collaboration in arts) Dance City, Newcastle - a two week artist laboratory curated by Jane Greenfield and led by Rui Horta. Artists involved came from France, Estonia, Germany, Holland and the UK.

The studies went onto inform Grafting & Budding, My Compass Rose and White Squall.
